BEDFORD — From creative arts and literacy to community service, the local Boys & Girls Club is proving to be much more than just an after-school hangout. This month, the organization’s various sites have been buzzing with activity, focusing on a core mission: creating, exploring, and building confidence in the community’s youth.

Limestone Unit: Energy and Engagement
The Limestone Unit continues to serve as a hub of daily activity. Staff reports a successful month where “Club Kids” transitioned seamlessly from the school day into a variety of enrichment tracks.

Activities this month focused on a balanced approach to youth development:
- Creative Expression: Members spent afternoons diving into diverse art projects.
- Literacy: Dedicated quiet blocks allowed students to explore new stories and strengthen reading skills.
- Physical Health: The gym remained a focal point for high-energy games designed to instill lifelong healthy habits.
Lincoln Site: Literacy and Leadership
It was a landmark week for the Lincoln After School program as members were invited to select brand-new books to take home. The initiative aims to foster a love for reading that extends beyond the classroom walls, encouraging kids to build their own home libraries.

Leadership was also on full display at the Lincoln site. Teen staff member Addison spearheaded a community service project involving the “Indiana Kids” group. The members assembled care bags for Becky’s Place, filled with comfort items for local women and children in transition.
Dollens Site: Imagination in Disguise
Creativity took center stage at the Dollens Site as members participated in the “My Leprechaun Disguise” project. Using worksheets to design clever and colorful outfits, students practiced problem-solving and self-expression. Educators noted that these imaginative exercises are vital for building the confidence children need to take pride in their original work.

Looking Ahead: Tiny Pillars and Summer Fun
The Club is also looking toward the future with two major announcements for local families:
1. Tiny Pillars Preschool Set to Launch: Coming in August 2026, the Club will officially open the doors to Tiny Pillars Preschool. The new program is designed to provide a “strong foundation” for the youngest learners, focusing on social growth, laughter-filled days, and early childhood education.

2. Summer Registration Now Open: With the school year winding down, registration for Summer at the Club is officially live. Parents are encouraged to secure their spots early.

Parents can register for summer programs or find more information about the upcoming preschool via the Parent Portal on the official Boys & Girls Club website.
Whether through a new book, a community service project, or a creative disguise, the Boys & Girls Club remains committed to building pillars that last a lifetime.
