BEDFORD – Downtown Bedford will be buzzing with activity on Saturday morning, October 3, 2026, as the annual Honey Harvest Festival returns alongside the Limestone Capital Half-Marathon and the Bedford Farmers Market.
The Honey Harvest Festival will run from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Harp Commons on the west side of the historic Bedford Courthouse Square. The community event is dedicated to celebrating pollinators, promoting native plants, offering children’s crafts, and supporting local downtown commerce.
Visitors of all ages can enjoy hands-on activities, educational displays, and photo opportunities—including selfies and high-fives with a six-foot honeybee.
Festival Highlights & Educational Activities
Organized with the support of several local partners, the festival features educational exhibits and interactive activities throughout the morning:
- Bedford Beekeepers: Offering candle-making demonstrations, insights into beekeeping with a live learning hive, flavored honey samples, and local honey and beeswax products for purchase.
- Conservation & Gardening Experts: Staff and volunteers from the Land of Limestone Master Gardeners, Hoosier National Forest, Lawrence County Soil & Water Conservation District, and Purdue Extension will be on hand to answer questions, host crafts, and present displays on supporting local pollinators.
Tri-Event Morning in Downtown Bedford
The festival dovetails with two other major downtown gatherings scheduled for the same morning:
- Limestone Capital Half-Marathon & 5K: Kicking off at 8:00 a.m.
- Bedford Farmers Market: Operating from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The Honey Harvest Festival is led by Bedford Revitalization, Inc. (BRI), the local Main Street organization, as part of an initiative to utilize downtown green spaces, drive local tourism, and support small businesses surrounding the square.
