INDIANA — The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of South-Central Indiana will host its annual awareness walk on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2026, at Crossroads Park in Seymour to support local mental health education, advocacy, and resources.
The community event will kick off with participant registration at 1:30 p.m., followed by opening ceremonies at 2:10 p.m. at Crossroads Park, 101 East Tipton Street in Seymour. Designed to accommodate participants of all fitness levels, the event features 1-mile and 2-mile walking routes, as well as a “no walk” option for attendees who prefer to stay at the park and enjoy the community gathering.
Walks will also be held in Bloomington and West Lafayette.
Alongside the walk, attendees can participate in a short program, visit informational and sponsor tables, enjoy complimentary refreshments, and listen to music provided by DJ Becky Campbell of 96.3-WJAA.
This year’s event features prominent local medical leaders:
- Keynote Speaker: Dr. Joyce Spurgeon, a psychiatrist at Schneck Medical Center, will address attendees on mental health awareness and community wellness.
- Honorary Chair: Dr. Eric D. Fish, MD, MBA, FACOG, President and CEO of Schneck Medical Center, is serving as the honorary chairperson for the event.

The Seymour walk is part of the broader NAMIWalks Indiana initiative, which features several regional events scheduled on September 13:
