INDIANA – The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued a fresh wave of safety recall alerts spanning multiple automotive brands, commercial trucks, specialized equipment, and trailers.
Among the largest campaigns, Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) announced a recall under ID 26V531 affecting various 2026 and 2027 models—including the Chrysler Pacifica, Voyager, Dodge Charger, several Jeep lines (Cherokee, Compass, Gladiator, Grand Cherokee, Grand Cherokee L, Wagoneer L, Wrangler), and select Ram 1500, 2500, and ProMaster vehicles—due to a rearview camera image failure that violates federal safety standards.
Other prominent vehicle and equipment issues include:
- Lucid USA, Inc. (Recall 26V540): Certain 2022–2026 Lucid Air electric vehicles have been recalled because an exterior lighting circuit issue may cause overheating and a potential fire risk, prompting recommendations to park outside until resolved.
- Kia America, Inc. (Recall 26V545): 2025–2026 Kia EV9 models are recalled due to an occupant detection system failure that may fail to suppress airbags properly.
- PACCAR Incorporated (Recall 26V544): Certain 2027 Kenworth (T680, T880, W990) and Peterbilt (567, 579, 589) trucks face a recall over a seat ventilation harness short-circuit risk.
- Commercial & Industrial Equipment: Additional notices impact The Heil Co. garbage loaders (26V535), E-One emergency vehicles (26V537), Altec aerial devices and derricks (26V541), Cornell Pump trailers (26V543), and Daimler commercial buses (26V546).
