BEDFORD — The Lawrence County Economic Growth Council is offering free Adult Basic Education classes for individuals working to earn their Indiana High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma. Designed so students can learn at their own pace, the program provides both in-person and online learning options for residents aged 16 and older who left high school before graduating.
In-person classes are held in Room 103 at the StoneGate Arts & Education Center, located at 931 15th Street in Bedford. Flexible scheduling is available throughout the week:
- Mondays, Tuesdays, & Thursdays: 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. OR 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
- Tuesdays & Thursdays: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Enrollment Requirements
Before attending classes, all students must attend a mandatory orientation session, which takes place once per month. Additional program guidelines include:
- Students must already be officially withdrawn from public school to enroll.
- Students under 18 years of age must provide an official High School Exit form and signed parent/guardian paperwork.
- All participants must present a valid driver’s license or state-issued ID alongside their Social Security number.
