INDIANA – Today, nonprofit group Solar United Neighbors (SUN) announced the selection of Solar Energy Solutions as the group’s installer. The group is helping local homeowners and small businesses install solar panels in Indianapolis and the surrounding counties.

“If you’ve ever thought about going solar, now’s your chance,” said Zach Schalk, Solar United Neighbors Indiana Program Director. “With energy costs rising as high as they’ve ever been, solar can help you save money by taking control of where your energy comes from. Doing so through the solar co-op provides peace of mind that you’re making the right decision for you and your family.”
Selection committee members chose Solar Energy Solutions because they were impressed by the company’s strong reputation and track record in central Indiana and competitive offering on equipment, warranties, and price.

“We’re honored that the members of the Central Indiana Solar Co-op selected Solar Energy Solutions to serve the group,” said Matt Partymiller, Founder and GM of Solar Energy Solutions. “Programs like this make going solar simpler and more affordable by bringing neighbors together to go through the process as a group. We’re proud to bring the same in-house team, NABCEP-certified expertise, and no-pressure approach we’ve offered Central Indiana homeowners since 2006 to every household in this co-op.”
The solar co-op is free to join. Joining is not a commitment to make a purchase. The chosen installer, Solar Energy Solutions, is in the process of developing a personalized proposal for each member. Members decide individually to accept their proposal or not.
“The selection process assures me that even those new to solar will be given a considered choice of a vendor who has experience and technical savvy,” said Don Donlan, a member of the solar co-op selection committee. “Savings come as the vendor competes for our business and continues to build a positive rapport with Solar United Neighbors locally.”
The City of Indianapolis Office of Sustainability, Citizens Action Coalition, Earth Charter Indiana, Faith in Place, Indiana Conservation Voters, Sierra Club Hoosier Chapter, Hoosier Environmental Council, Carmel Green Initiative, League of Women Voters of Indiana, Indiana Community Action Association, and Westfield Green Together are partnering with Solar United Neighbors to promote the solar co-op.
Solar United Neighbors has helped more than 300 Indiana families go solar through its solar co-ops. It is hosting free public information sessions to educate attendees about going solar and the solar co-op process.
