BEDFORD — As the new school year approaches, many families in Lawrence County are facing the challenge of purchasing the school supplies their children need to succeed. While a notebook or a box of crayons may seem like a small purchase, those costs add up quickly for families already stretching every dollar.
That’s why the Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County is asking its community to come together for its Back-to-School Bash on August 1. With the help of the community, hundreds of local students can begin the school year equipped with the supplies they need to learn, grow, and thrive.
A backpack filled with school supplies is more than just pencils and paper; it gives a child confidence on the first day of school. It allows students to participate in class, complete assignments, and focus on learning instead of worrying about what they don’t have.
Whether those who donate one item or several, generosity directly impacts children and families right here in the community. Every item helps ensure students have the tools they need for a successful school year.

Donations can be dropped off or shipped to the Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County, located at 2009 19th Street, Bedford.
Don’t Have Time to Shop?
Those who are interested in donating, but don’t have time to shop for supplies, consider making a monetary donation instead. The Boys & Girls Club will use the contribution to purchase the most-needed school supplies, ensuring every dollar goes where it can make the greatest difference.
It’s a quick, easy way to support local students while allowing the Club to fill in gaps and purchase supplies in bulk.
