Annual “Rockin’ the River” Event Returns August 1 to Benefit L.I.F.E. Food Pantry

BEDFORD — A staple summer tradition in Lawrence County is returning next month to help feed local families in need.

The Bedford Boat & Sportsmen’s Club will host its annual Rockin’ the River for L.I.F.E. Pantry on Saturday, August 1, 2026. The daylong event runs from Noon until 11:00 p.m. at 3916 Pumphouse Rd. in Bedford.

First established in 2011, the annual community fundraiser brings residents together for live music, food, local shopping, and entertainment—all aimed at stocking the shelves of Lawrence InterFaith Endeavor (L.I.F.E.) Food Pantry, which supports families, seniors, and veterans across Lawrence County.

Admission & Event Details

Entry is granted with a donation of non-perishable food items or a monetary cash donation benefiting the L.I.F.E. Food Pantry. PDF

  • Age Restrictions: The event grounds are family-friendly and open to all ages. Guests must be 21 years of age or older to enter the clubhouse.
  • Grand Finale: A fireworks display will take place immediately after dark to close out the night.

The festival features performances throughout the day and evening by four popular regional bands:

  • Dead Giveaway
  • Dames Rocket
  • Ugly Early!

Food & Local Vendors

Attendees can enjoy local food options and shop from local artisan and merchandise booths:

  • Food Vendors: WABBC Food Booth, Milly’s Groovy Coffee, Dottie’s Cinnamon Rolls, and Fish King.
  • Artisans & Retailers: Helen’s Hearts and Crafts, Bracelets 25, ABC Crochet, Rosalie Kate Designs, Heartmade, Tipsy Butterfly, Past and Presents, Esthetics by Bailey, and J&K Generations.

Vendor Spaces Still Available

Organizers note that a limited number of vendor spots remain available for local crafts or small businesses:

  • Setup Time: 10:00 a.m.
  • Vendor Fee: A donation of non-perishable food items or a cash donation to the L.I.F.E. Pantry.
  • Logistics: Canopies are welcome, though vendors should note that electricity and water hookups are not available on site.
