BLOOMINGTON – Get ready for a bustling Saturday at the local farmers’ market, offering fresh produce, entertainment, and opportunities to connect with city officials. Visitors are encouraged to bring water bottles, wear hats, and apply sunscreen for a comfortable experience.

The market offers an opportunity to shop for seasonal treasures and experience the vibrant atmosphere. Farmers express that while their work is challenging, the direct interaction with customers at the market is a weekly highlight, fostering a sense of community.

This Saturday’s market will feature live performances and a community outreach program. Shelby Ryan, a solo guitarist and vocalist, will perform two sets on the Farmers’ Market Circular Stage, with the first at 9 a.m. and the second at 10:30 a.m. The BloomingtonArts Theatre Company, a pre-professional youth theatre nonprofit, will also perform musical theatre songs on the Fernandez Plaza from 9:45 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Additionally, the “Mayor’s Team at the Table” initiative will be present, allowing market-goers to interact with City of Bloomington government officials. This week, Director of Parks and Recreation Tim Street and Recreation Services Director Becky Higgins, along with other special guests, will greet the public between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m.
