BEDFORD – Friday, June 7th, will be National Donut Day.
National Donut Day was started in 1938 by the Salvation Army. It was started to honor Donut Lassies, women who had served donuts to soldiers on the battlefield in the First World War.
In honor of National Donut Day, Magic Morning Bakery will offer customers a fun photo-op and an exciting new donut flavor. They will also give customers gift cards from local businesses throughout every hour of the day. Please note that one entry per person is allowed for each transaction made on the holiday.
In addition, Sweet Cakes Bakery will offer a strawberry shortcake donut and a donut-flavored iced coffee for the first time.
National Donut Day is a special day with a significant history, and the bakeries of Bedford sure know how to celebrate it.
