Josie Lamm, daughter of Cody and Toya Lamm is a 6th-grade student at Mitchell Junior High School.

Josie is a veteran of the Persimmon Festival Queen contest. “I wanted to do it again since I had fun and made really good memories doing it in Mini Miss.” Josie’s favorite part of the pageant was “wearing a pretty dress” and being with her friends.

She was very proud of herself for winning. “It feels really good.”

In addition to winning Queen of her age bracket, Josie also won Miss Congeniality. Miss Congeniality is an award given to the friendliest contestant as determined by a vote among the contestants. “Congenial” means friendly, welcoming, and amiable.

It was a unique year to win the pageant for Josie, since her older sister won the title of Queen for the pageant of the older age bracket, both of them named Persimmon royalty on the same day.
