Rural and volunteer fire departments can apply for grants in helping fight fires

INDIANA – Rural and volunteer fire departments can receive assistance helping fight fire by applying for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources Volunteer Fire Assistance Matching Grant program by March 1.

Agencies can apply for a matching grant every year for equipment and training funds.

Last year, more than $350,000 were awarded to 80 Indiana rural and volunteer fire departments across 50 counties.
