2022 Bedford Christmas Parade set to return this Saturday

BEDFORD – Bedford Revitalization Inc. has received approval from the Bedford Board of Works, to shut down the downtown area to through traffic for the 2022 Bedford Christmas parade set for Saturday, December 3rd.

The approved road closures for the Christmas Parade include:

  • Closing J Street between 16th Street and 15th Street from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Closing M Street between 12th Street and 15th Street from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Closing 15th Street from M Street and O Street from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Closing 16th Street and 15th Street between M Street and I Street from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Businesses that may be affected by the closures will be receiving a notice to inform them about the closures in the next few days.

The route will head south on M Street to 16th Street, before heading to the downtown square. There it will turn north on I Street, before heading west on 15th Street. The parade will then turn north on L Street before dispersing on L and 13th streets.

Downtown retailers and restaurants will be open during their standard business hours on Saturday, December 3rd. Additionally, an Open Air Christmas Market will feature vendors on the J Street section of Bedford’s Downtown Square from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

There will also be a live reindeer exhibit set up at Harp Commons from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and children can receive a free photo with Santa from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Harp Commons, prior to the start of the parade.

At 5:00 p.m. Parade Grand Marshals from the Winnefeld family and the Batcole Foundation will be recognized from the steps in front of the Miss Indiana statue on the east side of the Courthouse square.
