Batcole Foundation members to be recognized as the 2022 Bedford Christmas Parade Grand Marshals

BEDFORD – Bedford Revitalization Inc. Parade Committee is honored to recognize the Batcole Foundation as the Grand Marshals for the 2022 Bedford Christmas Parade.

The Winnefeld family

Mike, Carol, and Lauren Winnefeld started the Batcole Foundation in honor of their son and brother, Cole who sadly passed away from Stage IV neuroblastoma in July of 2015.

When Cole was initially diagnosed, and throughout his treatment, he always loved all things superheroes, especially Batman. The Batcole symbol was drawn on a napkin by a family friend and quickly became Cole’s identity.

A little boy’s smirk and childhood innocence, behind the mask of a superhero as he defied the odds with his cancer, is the cornerstone of the foundation’s logo. Together with their foundation board, specialized pediatric cancer treatment centers, and physicians, their goal is to identify clinical therapies which have the most promising clinical blueprints for success.

The Batcole Foundation also assists Indiana families in treatment for kids’ cancer by providing gift cards, toys, and financial assistance to ease their burdens.

The Batcole Foundation is committed to raising funds for research to develop novel, superior therapies for neuroblastoma and other pediatric cancers.

In addition to funding trials, the Batcole Foundation works with Ukuta to decorate hospital rooms and treatment centers with fun wall coverings, assists families in treatment with gift cards for basic needs, provide goodie bags to kids in treatment, and provides fun band-aids to hospitals, and clinics.
