MITCHELL – A Mitchell woman suffered minor injuries in an accident on Friday, November 25th at 9:15 p.m. on Woodville Road
According to a Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department report, 57-year-old Monica Anderson, of Mitchell, was traveling west in a 2019 black Toyota Tacoma on Woodville Drive when her vehicle went off the roadway and hit multiple mailboxes. The vehicle ran into a concrete hole which resulted in heavy front-end damage. This caused the vehicle to spin around and stop with the back end of the truck close to the roadway. Police believe the accident happened because Anderson was tired or fell asleep.
Anderson was unconscious at one point and complained of pain in her knee, leg, and foot. An IU LifeLine ambulance responded to the scene but Anderson refused to be transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The total estimate of damages was estimated between $10,001 to $25,000.
