27 Lawrence County Small Businesses Will Receive OCRA Grant

(BEDFORD) – At the Commissioners meeting Tuesday morning, Brian Skillman, Chair of the Lawrence County COVID-19 Response Grant Committee, announced 27 small businesses have been chosen as recipients of the Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) 2020 COVID-19 response program grant aimed to support economic development.

“The OCRA grant process has been completed,” said Skillman. “These funds will help retain employees and pay other costs incurred during the pandemic. The full $250,000 Grant will be distributed to county businesses with some receiving a max of $15,000.”

All recipients will be notified by email of the amount to be awarded and the timeline to expect to receive the funds from the Lawrence County Auditor’s Office.

“Funds will not be released before August 1 and further details will be communicated to the grant recipients as they become available to me,” Skillman added.

Skillman personally sent his deep appreciation to the committee members who volunteered their valuable time and efforts.

The committee consisted of the following members:
