RTC to Provide 1GB Fiber Network in Washington

(WASHINGTON) – The City of Washington and RTC Communications will announce the launch of a one-gigabyte advanced fiber network for Washington later this month.

The event is set for 10 a.m. Thursday, August 22, at the Mayor’s office.

Residences and businesses will have access to enhanced broadband service and increased speeds.

“Just because we are in a rural area does not mean that residents should not have access to the same speed and quality of service that metropolitan areas enjoy,” said Kirk Lehman, CEO of RTC. “Our customers are seeking the same upload and download speeds, greater connectivity for all their devices, 4K streaming, and a network that allows them to work remotely or run a business from home.”

Lehman says the new layout will meet and exceed the City’s Internet expectations.
