BLOOMINGTON – First Financial Bank (Nasdaq: FFBC) will host a Bloomington-area food drive from Oct. 1-30, accepting donations of canned and nonperishable food items in marked bins at its financial centers in the community, including at 536 N. College Ave. and 3205 East 3rd Street in Bloomington.
“In all that we do, we are committed to the well-being of our neighbors,” said Roddell McCullough, chief corporate responsibility officer. “This food drive builds on First Financial’s purpose of creating opportunities for our clients and communities to thrive.”
At the end of the drive, First Financial associates will select local organizations to receive donated food items for distribution throughout the community.
This is the fifth year that First Financial has organized a food drive. Last year’s campaign collected more than 9,800 food items throughout First Financial’s Midwestern footprint. More than 28,000 food items have been donated since the first year of the campaign.
First Financial Bank and its associates strive to be outstanding community partners through the food drive and other initiatives. First Financial is now in the third year of its $2.573 billion, five-year Community Benefits Agreement with the National Community Reinvestment Coalition and partner organizations, and has already committed 62 percent of its goal. This goal was increased from $2.4 billion to account for the new communities served by First Financial resulting from the Westfield Bank and BankFinancial acquisitions. First Financial has also earned two consecutive ratings of Outstanding, the highest possible rating, for its performance under the Community Reinvestment Act. Additionally, last year, First Financial Bank and associates teamed up to donate $4.6 million to local organizations throughout its five-state footprint of Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, and Illinois, through its broad philanthropy initiatives.
