INDIANAPOLIS – Pacers Sports & Entertainment will bring the community together at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Oct. 8 for a free film screening of Disney Pixar’s “Coco” in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.

The event is part of PS&E’s ongoing effort to connect with and celebrate the local Hispanic and Latino community, creating more opportunities for families to come together. While the event is free, tickets are required. Tickets are available at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, via Ticketmaster. “We’re excited to bring Hoosiers together for a family-friendly movie night that highlights Mexican culture, connection, and the traditions of Día de Muertos,” said Tracy Ellis Ward, Pacers Sports & Entertainment senior vice president of external relations. “As we continue to find ways to amplify culture and engage people from all cultures and backgrounds, events like this give families a chance to come together, have fun, and feel at home at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. ‘Coco’ is a beautiful story that resonates with audiences of all ages, and we’re excited to share it with the community.”

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with the movie beginning at 6:30 p.m. The first 500 guests to arrive will receive a voucher for free popcorn. Attendees will receive free parking in the Virginia Avenue Garage, located at 155 S. Delaware St., and can enjoy themed activities, giveaways, and concessions inspired by Mexican culture and the beloved animated film. The screening will feature bilingual closed captioning.

In Disney Pixar’s vibrant tale of family, music and adventure, aspiring young musician Miguel (Anthony Gonzalez) embarks on an extraordinary journey to the magical land of his ancestors. Along the way, Miguel meets the charming trickster Héctor (Gael García Bernal), who becomes an unexpected friend and helps him uncover the mysteries behind his family’s stories and traditions.

The evening will also feature fan giveaways, including opportunities to win Disney On Ice or Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey ticket packages, tickets to upcoming Indiana Pacers games, and other themed prizes.

Guests will be able to purchase a variety of food and beverages, including a signature Marigold Refresca made with lime, Tajín, mint, and sparkling water. Featured food offerings will include cantina-style nachos, street-style tacos, a churro ice cream sundae, and more. Soft drinks, water, wine, and draft beer will also be available for purchase.

The “Coco” screening is part of PS&E’s Hispanic Heritage Month programming, which will also bring Hispanic and Latino-owned food trucks to Morris Bicentennial Plaza every Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., beginning today and continuing throughout the month. The programming will also build toward the Indiana Pacers’ Nov. 7 game against the Denver Nuggets in Mexico City, which will take place during the week of Día de Muertos and feature themed in-arena elements and fan engagement highlighting Mexican culture and the global reach of basketball. More information is available at Pacers.com/Mexico-City.
