SHOALS — Property owners looking to stock new ponds or restore balance to existing aquatic ecosystems can now place orders through the Martin County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD). The district is once again partnering with Birdseye-based Andry’s Fish Farm for its annual fall fish sale.
The seasonal sale provides local landowners with access to a wide selection of native game fish, forage species, and specialized pond management fish. Stocking options typically include largemouth bass, channel catfish, regular and hybrid bluegill, redear sunfish, black crappie, fathead minnows, and triploid grass carp for biological weed control.

Forage fish like fathead minnows help establish a healthy food chain for predatory game species like bass, while sunfish and catfish offer recreational fishing opportunities.
