GREENE COUNTY – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces road closures for State Road 57 and US 231 in Greene County.

Beginning on or around Monday, August 17, crews will begin two road closures for chip and seal road maintenance projects in Greene County. Those closures include the following:
- US 231/State Road 67 between Terre Haute Street and the intersection of US 231 and State Road 67 near Worthington. The official detour for this closure is State Road 157 to State Road 54 to State Road 57.
- State Road 57 between State Road 54 and Seventh Street near Newberry. The official detour for this closure is State Road 54 to US 231 to I-69 to State Road 58.
Local traffic will retain access during both closures. Work on both projects is expected to take a week to complete, depending on the weather. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones.
