BLOOMINGTON — Looking to catch the very best of the summer season in Bloomington? The Bloomington Community Farmers’ Market (BCFM) continues its staple Saturday tradition, bringing together farm-fresh produce, live local music, artisan crafts, and direct access to city leadership.
A Harvest of Fresh Flavors and Local Goods
The market offers far more than standard grocery shopping—it serves as a weekly gathering space for neighbors to connect over locally grown and handcrafted products.
Shoppers visiting the market this August can expect an abundant seasonal selection, including:
- Fresh Produce: Apples, basil, beets, bell peppers, blackberries, broccoli, cantaloupe, carrots, cauliflower, celery, corn, cucumbers, eggplant, garlic, green beans, mixed greens, herbs, honeydew, mushrooms, okra, onions, peaches, plums, potatoes, raspberries, summer squash, tomatoes, watermelon, and zucchini.
- Artisanal Goods & Prepared Foods: Freshly baked breads, cakes and pastries, local cheeses and dairy, coffee, fresh eggs, honey, kettle corn, kombucha, maple syrup, masala chai, prepared beverages, and hot meals. A wide variety of meats—including beef, chicken, lamb, pork, and salmon—will also be available.

Fine Crafts and Live Music Take the Stage
This Saturday marks the second Saturday of the month, meaning visitors can also explore A Fair of the Arts. Hosted by Bloomington Parks and Recreation on Fernandez Plaza in front of City Hall, the event showcases sales, live demonstrations, and displays of handmade art and fine crafts created by local and regional artists.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, central Indiana native and southern Indiana-based singer-songwriter Jordan Ross will perform on the BCFM Circular Stage. Ross, whose sound blends folk, country, alternative, and rock influences, will play two sets at 9:15 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., highlighting original songs ahead of a new album release scheduled for this fall or winter.
Connect with City Leadership: Mayor’s Team at the Table
As part of the city’s ongoing community outreach initiative, market-goers can drop by the Mayor’s Team at the Table to speak directly with local officials in an informal setting.
This Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., City of Bloomington Director of Parks and Recreation Tim Street will be on-site to answer questions, hear ideas, and discuss community programs with residents.
Midweek Shopping: Tuesday Market at Hopewell Commons
For those looking to restock before the weekend, the BCFM Tuesday Market continues next week on August 11 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Hopewell Commons at 630 South Morton Street.
Running weekly through September, the Tuesday Market features seasonal produce, local food artisans, and ready-to-eat meals. Admission is free, and attendees are encouraged to walk or bike using the B-Line Trail, with bike racks available on both the east and west sides of the venue.
Next Tuesday’s midweek market will feature a live 5:00 p.m. performance by indie folk singer-songwriter Claire Pendreigh and the Blue Ribbons.
