INDIANAPOLIS — Tickets are available beginning July 21 for the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra’s exciting 2026–27 season, featuring Beethoven’s complete concertos, Mahler’s Fifth Symphony, Tchaikovsky’s “Pathétique,” Broadway star Mandy Gonzalez, Cody Fry, Rick Steves, Billy Joel’s greatest hits, blockbuster films performed live in concert, and Steve Hackman’s innovative performances. Beginning in September, Music Director Jun Märkl leads a season that places Beethoven at the heart of the Classical Series while showcasing landmark orchestral works, internationally acclaimed guest artists, and music by today’s leading composers. Märkl conducts 11 programs throughout the season, including Gala: OPUS endowed by Christel DeHaan on Sept. 19.
The Classical Series features all seven of Beethoven’s concertos alongside Mahler’s Symphony No. 5, Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6 “Pathétique,” Respighi’s Pines of Rome, Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring, and Ravel’s complete Daphnis et Chloé. Internationally acclaimed artists Denis Kozhukhin, Ingrid Fliter, Vadim Gluzman, Arabella Steinbacher, Conrad Tao, Javier Perianes, Geneva Lewis, and others join the ISO throughout the season, while works by Joan Tower, Camille Pépin, Conrad Tao, and composer spotlight Kenji Bunch continue the Orchestra’s commitment to living composers.
The season opens Sept. 19 with Gala: OPUS endowed by Christel DeHaan, featuring Beethoven’s majestic “Emperor” Piano Concerto performed by internationally acclaimed pianist Denis Kozhukhin, alongside selections from Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake and an immersive gala experience throughout Hilbert Circle Theatre.
Led by Principal Pops Conductor Jack Everly, the 2026–27 Printing Partners Pops Series celebrates pop icons, Broadway favorites, and audience-loved traditions. Highlights include Oops . . . I Sang It Again: From Britney to Beyoncé, the Pop Queens Are Back!, Rick Steves’ Europe: A Symphonic Journey, Grammy Award nominee Cody Fry, The Music of Billy Joel starring Tony DeSare, Celtic Journey, Broadway star Mandy Gonzalez, and the return of Battle of the Maestros: The Sequel featuring Everly and Principal Guest Conductor of Pops Enrico Lopez-Yañez.
The Film Series presented by Bank of America returns with four fan favorites performed live by the ISO: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Disney’s The Lion King, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, and Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.
Steve Hackman returns to Hilbert Circle Theatre with two bold Uncharted Series performances under the new SYMPHONYFUSE banner. SYMPHONYFUSE: Stravinsky x Kendrick Lamar (Feb. 10) blends Stravinsky’s Petrouchkawith Kendrick Lamar’s Pulitzer Prize-winning album DAMN, while SYMPHONYFUSE: The Brink (Apr. 7) brings Hackman’s original multimedia production of live music, fashion, film, and visual art to Indianapolis.
