Becky’s Place invites community to “Sleep Out • Speak Out” against homelessness for women and children

BEDFORD — Residents will have the opportunity to take a direct stand against homelessness during the annual “Sleep Out • Speak Out” event benefiting Becky’s Place, a local shelter providing safety, stability, and support for women and children in need.

The overnight awareness and fundraising event challenges participants to spend a single night sleeping outdoors to experience a fraction of what unhoused individuals face, while raising critical funds to help women rebuild their lives.

Event Details

  • Date: Friday, July 31 (Rain or Shine)
  • Time: 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
  • Location: Bedford First Church of God (Outdoors)

Participants spending the night under the stars will be provided with snacks, drinks, and warm coffee as they gather in solidarity.

How to Participate and Support

Organizers are encouraging community members to get involved by forming fundraising teams with churches, schools, local businesses, or groups of friends. All proceeds generated through the event directly support the ongoing mission of Becky’s Place, ensuring unhoused women and children in the area have access to safe shelter and resources for long-term stability.

Participants should bring their own sleeping bags and outdoor gear.
