WASHINGTON — High school seniors looking ahead to their college careers can now apply for one of the state’s most prestigious financial awards.

The Community Foundation of Southwest Indiana announced that applications are officially being accepted for the 2027 Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program (LECSP) for residents of Daviess County
The program is designed to significantly impact local families by removing financial barriers to higher education. This year, the Daviess Community Foundation will award one full-tuition scholarship to a qualified local student.
Comprehensive Financial Coverage
The highly competitive scholarship offers life-changing support for its recipients. Each award provides:
- Full Tuition Coverage: Covers all otherwise unreimbursed tuition costs for four years of undergraduate study.
- Required Fees: All required institutional fees are paid in full.
- Book Stipend: A special allocation of up to $900 per year is included to cover the cost of required books and equipment.
The scholarship must be used toward a full-time baccalaureate course of study at an eligible public or private, non-profit Indiana college or university.
Across the state, the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program will provide a total of 147 scholarships this year. While the program is funded by the Indianapolis-based Lilly Endowment Inc., it is administered statewide by the Independent Colleges of Indiana (ICI) and operated locally by community foundations in each county.
Since the program’s inception for the 1997–1998 school year, the Lilly Endowment has provided more than $505 million in tuition grants, supporting more than 5,400 Indiana students in their pursuit of higher education.
High school seniors graduating by 2027 who wish to be considered must submit their completed applications by Friday, August 14, 2026.
Eligible students can review specific local criteria, find information regarding required transcripts, and submit their digital application packets directly through the local foundation’s portal at daviesscountycf.org. Following local evaluations and finalist interviews, the names of local nominees will be submitted for final state review, with recipients traditionally notified in early December.
