ELLETTSVILLE — A powerful, 1,000-mile rolling tribute will hit Indiana roadways next week, marking a major milestone in honoring the state’s law enforcement legacy. On Monday, July 6, 2026, the Cops Cycling for Survivors Foundation will launch its 25th Annual “Ride to Remember,” continuing a quarter-century tradition of supporting the families and colleagues of Indiana’s fallen heroes.
What started in 2002 as a single long-distance trek to Washington, D.C., has transformed into an essential statewide mission. Over the course of 13 days, a dedicated group of active officers, retirees, survivors, and law enforcement family members will cycle across Indiana, stopping in dozens of communities to host memorials and ensure that those who made the ultimate sacrifice are never forgotten.
Honoring the Fallen: The 2025 Line-of-Duty Losses
The 2026 ride carries a solemn focus, paying special tribute to two dedicated Indiana public servants whose line-of-duty deaths were formally recognized over the past year:
- Reserve Deputy Sheriff John C. Stahl III (Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office) — End of Watch: June 8, 2025
- Corporal Blake Adair Reynolds (Delaware County Sheriff’s Office) — End of Watch: November 12, 2025
The portraits of Deputy Stahl and Corporal Reynolds have been added to the organization’s signature support truck. Widely considered “hallowed ground” by grieving families, this “rolling memorial” accompanies the cyclists on every mile, prominently displaying the faces of more than 500 Indiana officers lost throughout history. Along the route, riders will also pause to read aloud the names and stories of historical officers marking significant death anniversaries.

Opening and Closing Ceremonies
The foundation invites law enforcement personnel, local survivors, and the general public to join them for the bookend ceremonies of the tour:
- The Launch: Monday, July 6, at 8:00 a.m. at the Indiana Law Enforcement Memorial in downtown Indianapolis.
- The Conclusion: Saturday, July 18, at 2:00 p.m. at the Heroes of Public Safety section within Crown Hill Cemetery (Indianapolis).

Beyond the physical demands of the 1,000-mile ride, the Cops Cycling for Survivors Foundation operates as a financial lifeline for grieving families. Capital raised through the annual event allows the non-profit to provide immediate, unrestricted financial assistance to families in the devastating weeks following a line-of-duty death. Additionally, the foundation funds and sustains more than 25 separate scholarships and memorial funds established in perpetuity for Indiana’s fallen officers.
