INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra (ISO) welcomes Music Director Jun Märkl back to the podium one final time this season for three performances at Hilbert Circle Theatre, June 18–20. Jazz meets classical as pianist Makoto Ozone joins Märkl for an evening of vivacity and charm.
The concert will include Rachmaninoff’s spirited Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, Britten’s playful Soirées Musicales, Ozone’s own O’berek, and Schumann’s “Spring” Symphony. Performances take place on June 18 at 11 a.m., June 19 at 7:30 p.m., and June 20 at 5:30 p.m. Tickets may be purchased online or at the ISO Box Office.

The week also includes Into the Music: Schumann, on June 18 at 6:30 p.m., a free, pay-what-you-wish event designed to make classical music more accessible. Märkl will co-host the evening alongside Ryan Ahlwardt, offering an engaging onstage discussion and full orchestral performance of Schumann’s “Spring” Symphony. In partnership with Newfields, artwork will be displayed on screen throughout the event, visually connecting audiences to the music.
Tickets for all three concerts are available now at indianapolissymphony.org or by calling the ISO Box Office at 317-639-4300. $5 Access Pass tickets are available for this event.
