Free ‘Get Fit!’ exercise program launches in Bloomfield October 15

BLOOMFIELD — Greene County residents will soon have a free opportunity to stay active with the launch of the Get Fit! Program, a weekly exercise class designed to promote health and wellness through fun, low-impact activities.

The program, sponsored by Purdue Extension–Greene County, Greene County Ambulance Service, and the Greene County Health Department, begins Wednesday, Oct. 15, at 4503 W. State Road 54, Bloomfield. Classes will be held on Wednesdays from 10 to 11 a.m., running on Oct. 15, 22, 29; Nov. 5, 12, 19; and Dec. 3, 10, 17.

Organizers said the program is open to adults 18 and older and will feature monthly incentives, healthy snacks, and a step challenge to encourage participants to stay engaged.

“This is a great way for adults to stay active, connect with others, and learn how to make fitness a regular part of their routine,” said program coordinator Dana Frush.

The program is free, but registration is required by Oct. 1. To sign up, call 812-659-2122 or email dfrush@purdue.edu.
