MITCHELL — Regional country music veteran and vocal impressionist Lloyd Wood and his band are set to return to the Mitchell Opera House for a classic country and comedy performance at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14.
Wood, a recipient of the Sagamore of the Wabash — the highest civilian honor awarded by the governor of Indiana — first built a regional fanbase as the frontman for Lloyd Wood and the Little Nashville Express. Serving as the house band for the Little Nashville Opry in the late 1970s and early 1980s, the group opened for major national country acts.
Alongside original music and classic country tracks, Wood’s live show incorporates humor and vocal impersonations of legendary performers including George Jones, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Elvis Presley, and Tiny Tim.
Doors open at 6:15 p.m. on the night of the concert. All seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The venue is handicap accessible, and outside food and drinks are prohibited inside the auditorium.
Tickets are priced at $20 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. Advance e-tickets can be purchased online at mitchelloperahouse.com or via Humanitix. Physical tickets may also be purchased using cash or check at ACE Hardware in Mitchell, or at the door on the night of the performance via cash, check, or credit card.
