BLOOMINGTON — The Indiana University Center for Rural Engagement and Pillar Arts have announced a partnership with the Indiana Arts Commission to host the On-Ramp Creative Entrepreneur Accelerator in Bloomington.

The On-Ramp Creative Entrepreneur Accelerator is designed to empower Indiana creative entrepreneurs to manage and grow their careers through a portfolio business model. Participants learn a community-engaged approach to leverage their artistic strengths while building sustainable creative practices centered on core business principles.
In 2027, the statewide initiative will be hosted at three regional sites across Indiana in collaboration with local community partners.
The On-Ramp accelerator program features a three-day intensive workshop focused on entrepreneurship and community engagement. Following completion of the training, participating creative business owners gain the opportunity to apply for up to $2,000 in funding to put their business strategies into action.
Since launching in 2018, the On-Ramp program has supported 281 Hoosier creative small business owners across the state.
The Southern Indiana workshop is scheduled to take place in Bloomington from April 19 to April 21, 2027.
“Creative entrepreneurs are an important part of thriving communities,” said Nicole Vasconi, quality of place liaison at the IU Center for Rural Engagement. “On-Ramp gives artists practical business tools and a community-engaged approach to build sustainable practices, connect with their communities, and strengthen the arts across Southern Indiana.”
