Orange County 4-H Junior Leaders to host CPR Training for teens

ORANGE COUNTY — Purdue Extension and Orange County 4-H Junior Leaders are offering teens an opportunity to learn lifesaving skills through a hands-on CPR training session scheduled for Nov. 10.

The training will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the 4-H Block Building at the Orange County Fairgrounds. The program is designed for youth in grades six through 12 and will provide participants with the knowledge and confidence needed to respond during an emergency.

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation, commonly known as CPR, is an important emergency response skill that can help sustain blood flow and oxygen to vital organs when a person experiences cardiac arrest. Learning how to respond in an emergency can help teens feel more prepared to assist others when every second counts.

The training will feature hands-on instruction to help participants become more familiar with CPR techniques and emergency response.

A $10 deposit is required to participate. The deposit is refundable after the training is completed.

For more information or to learn how to participate, contact Purdue Extension at 812-723-7107 or email denny4@purdue.edu.

The program is part of an effort to equip local youth with practical skills they can use to help others and respond confidently in emergency situations.
