Monroe County Childhood Conditions Summit set for Nov. 16 to address youth and family well-being

MONROE COUNTY — Community members, organizers, educators, and local leaders who live or work across Monroe County and South-Central Indiana are invited to register for the 2026 Monroe County Childhood Conditions Summit (MC3).

Hosted by the Youth Services Bureau of Monroe County alongside Building a Thriving Compassionate Community (BTCC), the annual event will take place on Monday, Nov. 16, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Bloomington Convention Center.

Focusing on Social and Structural Determinants of Health

Centered on this year’s theme, “Shaping What Surrounds Us,” the summit aims to build stronger collaborative relationships between individuals and organizations across the region. Participants will explore how social and structural conditions directly impact the capacity of children and their caregivers to thrive.

Key discussion topics and sessions will examine critical community factors, including:

  • Safe and Affordable Housing
  • Economic Security
  • Local Zoning Policies
  • Climate Resilience
  • Healthcare Access

Organizers emphasize that as social systems face growing strains, the summit serves as a collaborative platform to rethink local environments and embed safety, stability, and nurturance into the fabric of the community.

Registration is now open to the public. Community members, care providers, policy advocates, and organizational delegates can secure their spot online by visiting 2026MC3.eventbrite.com.
