BEDFORD — Members of Martin County Co-Op Credit Union (MCCCU) voted overwhelmingly on Aug. 24, 2026, to approve a merger with Hoosier Hills Credit Union (HHCU), expanding financial resources and product offerings for local members while maintaining trusted personal service in Loogootee.

The merger will officially take effect on March 1, 2027. At that time, MCCCU members will gain access to HHCU’s broader portfolio of financial products, services, and conveniences, as well as its network of service centers across Southern Indiana and Northern Kentucky.
The current MCCCU location in Loogootee will become a permanent Hoosier Hills Credit Union Service Center, operated by the existing Loogootee team. The addition expands HHCU’s reach while giving existing HHCU members another physical service location.

“At Hoosier Hills Credit Union, we believe strong communities are built one relationship, one household, and one local business at a time,” said Travis Markley, President and Chief Executive Officer of Hoosier Hills Credit Union. “Welcoming Martin County Co-Op Credit Union into the Hoosier Hills family reflects our commitment to growing with intention and purpose while continuing MCCCU’s legacy of exceptional service. Together, we will help Members build brighter financial futures while investing in Loogootee and Martin County through donations, scholarships, community foundation endowments, and meaningful partnerships.”
MCCCU Chief Executive Officer Mike Hurt echoed enthusiasm for the partnership and its community impact.
“We believe Hoosier Hills Credit Union is the strongest partner to build upon our commitment to serving our Members and the Loogootee community,” Hurt said. “We’re excited to bring our Members expanded financial services and resources while continuing the personal service they know and trust. This partnership also creates new opportunities to strengthen community impact initiatives in Loogootee and throughout Martin County.”
Credit union leadership noted that maintaining a smooth transition for members remains a top priority. MCCCU members will receive detailed information and updates leading up to the March 2027 integration date to help guide them through the change.
Founded in 1969 and headquartered in Bedford, Indiana, Hoosier Hills Credit Union is a member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative operating ten service centers across Central and Southern Indiana and Northern Kentucky.
