SHOALS — The Shoals High School Beta Club is inviting runners, walkers, and community members of all ages to hit the pavement for the River Run 5K Chalk and Chills fundraiser on Saturday, October 10, 2026.
Held as part of the annual Shoals Harvest Fest autumn celebrations, the family-friendly event combines physical fitness with a vibrant color run experience along the White River.
Race Schedule and Details
The 5K route begins and ends at the historic Star Mill in Shoals. Participants will navigate a course equipped with multiple stations where volunteers will spray non-toxic, colorful powder chalk as runners and walkers pass by, culminating in a group “color blast” celebration at the finish line.

Costumes and spirit wear are encouraged to fit the “Chalk and Chills” Halloween theme.
Registration Fees and Student Support
Registration rates for the event are structured by age group:
- Ages 13 and older: $25
- Ages 6 to 12: $15
- Ages 5 and younger: Free
All proceeds directly support members of the Shoals Beta Club, helping offset travel, lodging, and registration expenses for students who qualify to compete at the National Beta Club Convention in Texas next summer.
By participating in the race, community members support local student leaders who demonstrate academic achievement, character, service, and leadership throughout Martin County.
