BEDFORD — The City of Bedford is partnering with the United Way of South Central Indiana for a Day of Caring on Friday, October 2, bringing local volunteers together for a morning of service and community improvement.
The event will run from 9 a.m. to noon and will give volunteers the opportunity to work alongside the Bedford Lions Club, Bedford Rotary Club, the City of Bedford and other local organizations on projects throughout the community.
One of the featured projects will support Bedford’s Free Little Art Galleries. Following the opening ceremony, volunteers will gather at the StoneGate Arts & Education Center to assemble art supply kits.
The kits will be used to restock Free Little Art Galleries throughout Bedford for the remainder of the year, helping provide residents with continued access to art supplies and creative activities.
Volunteers will also have the opportunity to participate in a litter cleanup along Mitchell Road. After the opening breakfast and ceremony, volunteers will meet at M&E Honda before heading out to collect litter and help improve the appearance of the area.
All necessary supplies and equipment for the cleanup will be provided.
The morning will begin with breakfast and volunteer check-in at StoneGate Arts & Education Center, 931 15th Street, second floor, in Brinegar Hall.
