BEDFORD — The Knights of Columbus will host an American Red Cross blood drive on Thursday, October 15, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall, located at 2202 M Street in Bedford.

The local event comes amid an urgent appeal from the American Red Cross as the nation faces an emergency blood shortage. The national supply dropped nearly 25% in June, while hospital demand increased by approximately 3,500 units per week. Because blood and platelets cannot be manufactured or stockpiled, medical facilities rely entirely on volunteer donations to treat trauma victims, cancer patients, surgical cases, and individuals with chronic illness.
Organizers emphasize that only about 3% of age-eligible Americans donate blood each year, making every local donation vital to maintaining a stable healthcare supply.
Event & Donation Details
Both pre-registered donors and walk-ins are welcome to participate in the October drive. Additionally, individuals who donate blood between September 21 and October 18 will receive a $15 e-gift card.
