BLOOMINGTON – The Bloomington Community Farmers’ Market is hosting a weekend packed with local craftsmanship, live music, and civic engagement at Fernandez Plaza, followed by the continuation of the seasonal Tuesday Market at Hopewell Commons.
Local and regional artists will gather on Fernandez Plaza in front of City Hall to showcase, demonstrate, and sell handmade art and fine crafts during A Fair of the Arts. Hosted by Bloomington Parks and Recreation, the fair takes place during the main market hours.
The Bloomington Bones, a trombone ensemble affiliated with the Bloomington Community Band, will take the Center Stage for two performances at 8:30 a.m. and 9:45 a.m., offering an eclectic mix of music ranging from classical to jazz.
As part of the city’s ongoing public outreach initiative, Mayor’s Team at the Table, residents can speak directly with local leadership. From 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Animal Care & Control Shelter Manager Robyn Peffinger will be present to answer questions, hear feedback, and discuss city services.
The weekend setting also highlights the strong bonds among market vendors, who often share moments of support and camaraderie during the early morning setup before doors open to the public.
Tuesday Market at Hopewell Commons
The mid-week market continues its final month of the 2026 season on Tuesday, September 15, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Hopewell Commons (630 S. Morton St.).
Shoppers can find seasonal produce, local artisan foods, and prepared meals made with regional ingredients. Admission is free, and live entertainment will be provided by the Heritage Hall Ramblers playing traditional Dixieland music starting at 5:00 p.m. Marketgoers are encouraged to walk or ride along the adjacent B-Line Trail, with bike parking available on both sides of Hopewell Commons.
