BLOOMINGTON — The Monroe County Democrats’ Club and the Stonewall Democrats of South Central Indiana are teaming up to host a Labor Day Weekend Pitch-In Picnic on Sunday, Sept. 6.
The event will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at The Sycamore (North) Shelter House, located at Lower Cascades Park on Bloomington’s north side. The rain-or-shine gathering will feature grilled bratwurst and a buffet of fried chicken, alongside drinks, side dishes, and fixings contributed by attendees.
Organizers invite community members to celebrate the Labor Day holiday alongside current Democratic leadership and candidates campaigning in local elections this fall.
Detour and Access Details
Due to an ongoing bridge outage on Old State Road 37, attendees traveling to the park are advised to take an alternate route:
- Take IN-45 or IN-46 to North Kinser Pike.
- Head north on Kinser Pike past North Skyline Drive.
- Turn right onto Upper Cascades Park Road, passing Cascades Golf Course to reach the Sycamore Shelter.
