WILLIAMS — Area residents are invited to step back in time for an evening of dining on one of Lawrence County’s most iconic landmarks. The Williams Community and Lawrence County Tourism will host the annual “Dinner on the Bridge” on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026.
The event takes place atop the historic Williams Covered Bridge, spanning the East Fork of the White River. Built in 1884 by renowned master bridge builder Joseph J. Daniels, the 402-foot Howe truss structure is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and stands as a central pillar of the Williams community heritage.
Guests can begin gathering at the bridge at 4:00 p.m., with dinner service scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m.
Ticket Information and Deadlines
- Cost: $40.00 per person (includes full meal and a commemorative token of appreciation)
- Purchase Deadline: Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026
- Payment Method: Cash or check only (checks payable to Lawrence County Tourism)
Due to space constraints on the historic bridge deck, ticket availability is strictly limited. Tickets must be reserved and collected in person at the Lawrence County Tourism Office, located at 533 West Main Street in Mitchell.
