INDIANA – Before cleaning out Grandpa’s barn, hauling old boxes from the basement, or tossing that rusty relic in the garage, residents across the Midwest may want to take a closer look. Somewhere in that pile could be the exact piece of history the hosts of “American Pickers” hope to find.

The long-running History Channel reality series plans to film across Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio in October 2026. Producers are currently issuing a call for private collectors throughout the tri-state area who hold rare antiques, unusual memorabilia, and historically significant items to feature in upcoming episodes.
The hit television show follows antique hunters—led by creator Mike Wolfe alongside co-hosts Robbie Wolfe and Jon “Jersey Jon” Szalay, with office manager Danielle Colby—as they travel country back roads searching for forgotten relics and “rusty gold”.
Producers emphasize that they are particularly eager to uncover items they have never encountered before, as well as the personal stories behind the collections.
“The American Pickers TV Show is looking for leads and would love to explore your hidden treasure,” the network said in a press announcement. “If you or someone you know has a unique item, story to tell, and is ready to sell … we would love to hear from you.”
There is one major restriction for applicants: the show exclusively visits private collections.
- Eligible locations: Private barns, residential garages, personal storage facilities, and private junkyards.
- Ineligible locations: Retail stores, flea markets, antique malls, auction businesses, museums, or any spaces open to the public.

“American Pickers” premiered on the History Channel in 2010 and has spent over 15 years documenting the hunt for Americana across the United States.
The show originally featured the dynamic duo of Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz. Fritz departed the series in 2020 due to health issues and passed away in late 2024, leaving a lasting legacy on the series. YouTube
Mike’s brother Robbie Wolfe joined the main cast as a full-time co-host, alongside long-time antique restoration expert Jon “Jersey Jon” Szalay.
The Midwest sweep follows an expanding roster of projects for the franchise, including Mike Wolfe’s recent History Channel series, History’s Greatest Picks, which highlights remarkable historical collections and finds nationwide. The Newest Rant
The Midwest continues to serve as one of the show’s favorite regions to hunt due to its dense concentration of agricultural history, early automotive relics, and industrial antiques. Producers urge residents not to wait until the last minute, as route scheduling for the October shoot is actively underway.
