BLOOMINGTON — The Monroe Fire Protection District will host a Community Cookout on Saturday, August 22, offering local families a chance to tour facilities, meet firefighters, and enjoy summer activities.

The event will take place at MFD Station 21, located at 9094 S. Strain Ridge Road in Bloomington. Activities will run from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with food served from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Event Highlights & Activities
- Food: Served hot from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
- Fire Station Tours & Equipment: Guided station tours and fire trucks on display for children and adults to explore.
- Family & Kid Attractions: Bounce houses, a dunk tank, and interactive family activities throughout the afternoon.
Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to support local food pantries across Monroe County. Direct financial donations to support the event and department outreach are also accepted on-site via QR code.
