INDIANAPOLIS – Make plans to attend the “Stands Up for Recovery” ride and family-friendly community event on Saturday, August 15, at The Salvation Army Harbor Light Center.

Attendees can enjoy food, music, and games, and can learn about community resources. The motorcycle ride, organized by Renegade Recovery of Indiana, begins and ends at The Salvation Army Harbor Light Center at 2400 N. Tibbs Avenue in Indianapolis. On-site registration begins at 9 a.m., and kickstands go up at 10:30 a.m.
Pre-registration: Stands Up for Recovery 2026
Stands Up for Recovery tackles the stigma surrounding substance use disorder, mental health, and other addictions. Proceeds will fund need-based scholarships for withdrawal management treatment at the Harbor Light Center.
“I am excited for this event,” said Major Dan Sawka, General Secretary for The Salvation Army Indiana Division. “As a rider, this is an easy way to support the mission and ministry of The Salvation Army’s Harbor Light Center. For over 75 years, Harbor Light has been a beacon of hope for individuals who seek to live a sober life. It is wonderful to be able to stand up for recovery. I want to say thank you to our partners and supporters, and hope everyone has a safe ride.”
The Salvation Army Harbor Light Center helps hundreds of men and women each year in their fight to break the bonds of addiction. The facility offers comprehensive addiction treatment, including medically supervised withdrawal management, residential treatment, transitional housing, an intensive outpatient program, parenting and work-ready courses, and opportunities for spiritual healing.
Stands Up for Recovery kicks off National Recovery Month, which is observed each September. For more information about participating in the ride or to register, visit SAHarborLight.org.
