WASHINGTON — Local pickleball players and health advocates will gather at the Daviess County Pickleball Courts on Saturday and Sunday, July 11–12, 2026, for the annual Daviess Community Hospital (DCH) Foundation Pickleball Tournament.
Hosted at the municipal court complex at 800 Longfellow Drive in Washington, the annual event serves a dual purpose: celebrating the memory of the late Dr. Suresh Lohano—a beloved area physician, family man, and devoted pickleball enthusiast—while raising crucial funds for local medical education and community health projects.

Tournament Format and Divisions
The round-robin style competition is open to players of all skill levels and age brackets, featuring guaranteed play across several competitive divisions:
- Divisions: Singles, Doubles, and Mixed Doubles
- Categories: Men’s, Women’s, and Youth (Ages 8–18)
- Skill Levels: Ranging from 2.5 (novice/intermediate) through 4.5 (advanced)
Winning players and teams across each skill category and division will receive official tournament medals at the conclusion of match play.
Supporting Future Healthcare Professionals
All proceeds from tournament registration fees, business sponsorships, and individual donations directly benefit the DCH Foundation. Funds raised support the foundation’s Health Careers Scholarship program—including a specialized scholarship established in Dr. Lohano’s honor to assist local students pursuing degrees in medicine and health sciences—as well as ongoing clinical equipment and wellness initiatives across Daviess County.
Last year’s inaugural tournament brought out dozens of local and regional players, raising over $20,000 for the foundation.
For registration details, schedule updates, or information on how to sponsor the event, contact DCH Foundation Director Angie Steiner at 812-254-8858 or visit dchosp.org/our-foundation.
