BEDFORD — The Lawrence County Commissioners have officially approved a contract to revitalize the exterior of Dunn Plaza, selecting a local contractor following a competitive public bidding process.
During their regularly scheduled meeting, the commissioners reviewed four bids submitted by regional contractors aiming to secure the commercial painting project. After evaluating the proposals for cost-effectiveness and compliance with county project specifications, the board voted unanimously to award the contract to J&J Painting LLC.
The winning bid was finalized at a flat amount of $22,400.
The exterior repainting project is part of an ongoing, systematic effort by Lawrence County officials to maintain and upgrade county-owned real estate assets. Dunn Plaza, which houses vital local retail, healthcare, and community spaces, has shown visible weathering over recent seasons.
The scope of work under the $22,400 contract will require extensive surface preparation—including commercial power-washing, scraping, and priming—before applying weather-resistant exterior paint designed to protect the building’s facade from the elements.
