BEDFORD — The Lawrence County Highway Department has released its most up-to-date paving schedule, detailing upcoming road closures and infrastructure improvements across the county.
Highway Department Superintendent Brian Sowder emphasized that all scheduled paving projects are heavily weather-dependent and subject to adjustment if conditions degrade.
Daily Work Hours and Road Closure Guidelines
To minimize disruptions for local commuters, the Highway Department has established a standard operational framework for the upcoming projects:
- Daily Timeline: Paving operations are scheduled to begin at approximately 7:00 a.m.
- Target Reopening: The department’s goal is to wrap up operations and have the affected roads fully reopened to traffic before 4:00 p.m. each afternoon. However, crews may work later into the evening if necessary to complete a specific section.
- No Overnight Closures: For multi-day projects, roads will not remain closed overnight; they will be reopened each evening after crews finish work for the day.
- Emergency Protocols: In the event of an emergency, the department will immediately clear the way and deploy all required first responders to the necessary location.
