ORLEANS — Historic Congress Square in downtown Orleans will transform into a patriotic celebration this coming Thursday, June 18, 2026, as the community gathers for a special “Happy 250th Birthday America” Concert in the Park.

The evening’s headline entertainment will feature the popular musical group Ladies for Liberty. Renowned for their 1940s WWII-style Big Band Andrews Sisters tribute, the ensemble will perform a rendition of patriotic classics and vintage hits tailored for the nation’s ongoing semiquincentennial celebrations.
The patriotic festivities will officially commence at 6:15 p.m. with a special flag-raising ceremony conducted by the Orleans American Legion Post 69. Immediately following the ceremony, the Ladies for Liberty are scheduled to take the main stage at 6:30 p.m.
The concert is intentionally synchronized with the town’s highly anticipated Food Truck Thursday Frenzy, which will blanket the historic downtown square from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Visitors can expect a diverse selection of local food trucks offering dinner options, snacks, and desserts alongside live entertainment interspersed throughout the evening.
The community celebration is being co-sponsored by the Orleans Chamber of Commerce and Hometown Scoops.
Organizers note that while the park provides an ideal backdrop for the evening, permanent seating is limited. All attendees are strongly encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets to comfortably enjoy the musical performances and food truck offerings. Admission to the park event and concert is free to the public.
