WEST LAFAYETTE — Seventeen student leaders from across the state have been selected to compete for just seven coveted Indiana FFA State Officer positions during the upcoming 97th Indiana FFA State Convention.
The intensive selection process will culminate in the election of a new state officer team, which includes the positions of:
- State President
- State Secretary
- Northern Region Vice President
- Southern Region Vice President
- State Treasurer
- State Reporter
- State Sentinel
Once elected, the seven officers will pause their traditional academic schedules to dedicate a year of service to the organization. Their primary responsibilities will focus on overseeing the grassroots development of local FFA chapters and providing strategic direction during statewide events and competitive contests.
Throughout their year-long tenure, the newly elected team will travel extensively to visit individual school chapters, host specialized career and leadership development events, and execute regional leadership conferences for thousands of Indiana FFA members.

“Competing for an FFA officer position is a commitment to leadership, service, and representing the values that define FFA,” said Don Lamb, director of the Indiana State Department of Agriculture. “I wish each candidate the best, and I am excited to see how the individuals chosen will continue to strengthen FFA and their local communities.”
