Bloomington Book Drive collects 425 books in support of financial literacy

BLOOMINGTON – First Financial Bank (Nasdaq: FFBC) and associates teamed up with the community for a successful book drive during May, collecting 425 books at the bank’s locations in Bloomington in support of financial literacy. First Financial associates are donating the books, which touch on financial literacy and other topics, to Hoosier Hills Food Bank.

“Improving financial literacy creates opportunities for our clients and communities to thrive, so we are grateful to everyone who pitched in to make this year’s book drive a success,” said Roddell McCullough, chief corporate responsibility officer for First Financial.

Throughout the states of Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and Illinois, First Financial and local communities collected 9,467 books, with employees selecting local schools, libraries, and nonprofit organizations to receive the titles for distribution into the community. This is the fourth year First Financial has organized book drives in the communities it serves.

First Financial also organizes an annual food drive in November, with last year’s drive collecting more than 9,800 food items. First Financial Bank and the First Financial Foundation also donated more than $4.5 million to local organizations in 2025, and employees totaled more than 16,000 volunteer hours in demonstration of the bank’s commitment to community service.
