Lawrence County Council to meet May 26; High-profile department requests, SIDC presentation on agenda

BEDFORD The Lawrence County Council will convene for its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at 4:30 p.m., held at the Lawrence County Courthouse.

The upcoming session features a robust agenda, including several key personnel requests, financial adjustments from top county officials, and a presentation from the Southern Indiana Development Commission (SIDC).

The council will hear high-level requests for additional funding and budget transfers from Prosecutor Sam Arp, Sheriff Greg Day, and Chief Public Defender Tim Sledd.

Personnel and staffing will also take center stage, with recruitment requests brought forward by Paula Edwards, of the Lawrence County Health Department, and Commissioner Vice President Rodney Fish, alongside a Property Tax Assessment Board of Appeals appointment for Assessor April Collins.
