North Lawrence Community Schools announces Free ‘Grab and Go’ Summer Meals Program starting June 1

BEDFORD North Lawrence Community Schools (NLCS) has announced the return of its Free Summer Meals program, ensuring that local children have access to nutritious food throughout the upcoming summer break.

The program is scheduled to run from June 1 through July 24.

To accommodate busy family schedules, the district will utilize a convenient “Grab and Go” curb-side pick-up model. Families can pick up the meals daily at Bedford Middle School, utilizing entry door #6. Pick-up hours will be strictly observed from Noon to 1:00 p.m.

The distribution schedule is structured to provide continuous coverage through the weekends:

  • Monday through Thursday: Families will receive 1 breakfast and 1 lunch per child, per day.
  • Friday: Families will receive a weekend bundle containing 3 breakfasts and 3 lunches per child.

The summer food service program is open to children in the community, but registration is required in advance to ensure accurate meal counts.
